From Monday to Friday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 pm, and from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Saturday: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Closed at midday

* Visit includes access to exhibitions and gallery spaces, documentary and film showings on Salvadoran history and culture.


Guided tours for student groups, community organizations, etc. should be reserved and coordinated with:

  • Claudia Anay García, , telephone: 2564-7005, and accessible at MUPI headquarters.


To coordinate group tours and provide you with adequate attention, we advise you to keep in mind the following suggestions:

  • Groups should not exceed 55 persons.
  • Visit our museum headquarters to meet with staff to plan the tour and to familiarize yourself with the themes of the various exhibitions.
  • Reserve the space at least one week prior to your visit to ensure sufficient time to view the exhibitions and to avoid overcrowding which impedes learning.
  • We do not allow the entry of large bags or items. Thus we advise visitors, especially students to bring a note book and pen or pencil to take notes.


In order toensure a morepleasantvisit, the MUPI kindly asks visitors to follow these rules when touring exhibition spaces.

  • We do not permit the entry of large bags and objects such as backpacks, packages, umbrellas, bags, etc. larger than 35x35inches. Such items should be temporally held at reception.
  • We do not allowing smoking, eating, or food in the exhibition spaces.
  • We do not allow the entry of animals, with the exception of guide dogs.
  • We ask that you maintain cellular devises turned off during exhibition tours, film showings, and group discussions.
  • Please be respectful towards other visitors and speak in a calm manner and with moderate volume.
  • For personal or educational purposes, visitors may take flash photography of exhibitions with personal or handheld cameras or electronic devises.
  • Professional photography equipment, video cameras, tripods, lights, recording devices, or similar equipment is not permitted without the previous approval of MUPI directors.
  • Touching, moving, or playing with objects in the exhibition is not permitted.
